Hello, host
family!
My name is Nathalia, I’m 20 years. I am a Business student and an
English teacher. I live with my mother FULANA, who is a psychologist and our dog. I don’t have any siblings. My
father, sometimes, comes to visit me. His name is FULANO and he is a sales
manager.
I live in Fortaleza, in the state of Ceará. It
is a city with about 2.5 million people in the Northeast coast of Brazil. It’s
a nice city, with lots of beautiful beaches around. If you don’t like beaches,
there are mountains too. The weather here is hot the whole year. There is only
one season in Fortaleza: summer.
I always
help my mother with the housework, because she works full-time, so when she
doesn’t have time I have to cook my lunch, wash the dishes, do the laundry and
walk our dog.
Since I
live in the coast of the country, in my free time I love going to the beach
with my friends. Almost every week my mother and I go to the movies when we
have time. I also enjoy reading at night, playing sports and exercising. When I
want to rest I watch TV and listen to music. When I was younger I took singing
classes and guitar classes for 1 year. And I used to practice karate and
dancing. I had to stop, because of school and work. I love animals, especially
dogs. Therefore, if you have a pet it won’t be a problem.
My
experience with kids was very good. I have a kids’ class at the English school
I work and I have been teaching them for 1 year and a half. Last year, during
my summer vacation, I started working as a volunteer at an institution that
takes care of abandoned children and children with HIV. There were kids at
different ages and temper. And I had to play with them, help them to shower,
feed and put them to bed. It was the
greatest experience I have ever had, because it makes you feel very good
helping those children. I enjoyed myself very much! On my last vacation, I took
care of my friend’s nice, Maria Eduarda. I was there to help her mother, so I
just had to play with her, help her to eat, watch her having shower and put her
to bed, which was a good experience too.
I decided
to be an Au Pair because I think it is a great opportunity to learn a different
culture, meet new people and become more fluent in English. I have always
wanted to live abroad and I also love taking care of kids, so it’s a perfect
match!
I am an
easy going and flexible person; I can handle challenges and adapt easily to
different ways of living. I am also honest, responsible and organized so it
will be easy to live with me. Besides all of that, I am active and outgoing,
because of that I will always try to keep the kids entertained. I am patient
and caring too, so I will give as much as attention the children need. That’s
why I think I will be a great Au Pair.
Being an Au
Pair can bring me many good things; it will make me more adaptable, more
independent and mature and more responsible. I think I will grow as a person.
Besides that I will bond with your children, exchange cultural information,
learn from them and show your kids a little bit about my country, so they will
never forget this piece of Brazil.
I hope we
can get along very well and learn a lot from each other. I am looking forward
to be with you in America! See you soon!
Nathalia,
Fortaleza,
Brazil.
Espero ter ajudado vocês, futuras Au Pairs! ;*
